Shape, Length & Size - Which is which?

We often mention different terms, but what do they actually mean?

What is Shape?

Shape describes the overall contour and tip of the nail. It refers to how the nail looks visually and is completely independent of both length and size.

We currently offer four different shapes: Square, Almond, Oval, and Ballerina.

- Square is straight along the sides with a flat, square tip.
- Almond tapers toward a soft, pointed tip for a more elongated look.
- Oval is straight along the sides with a softly rounded tip.
- Ballerina tapers inward and ends with a straight tip, similar to a ballet shoe.

What Does Length Mean?

Length refers to how long the nail is from base to tip.

Our current length categories:
Extra Short – available in Square.
Short – available in all four shapes: Almond, Square, Ballerina, and Oval.

We share the measurements of the largest and smallest sizes in each shape to give an estimate of the overall length.
Because each shape has its own design and proportions, lengths cannot be directly compared between different shapes.

The length range therefore applies within each shape and should be used as a general guideline.

Additional lengths such as Medium and Long may be introduced in the future, but these are the lengths currently available.

What is Size?

Size refers to how wide and long a nail is in comparison to another.
Each Switch Nails set includes 30 nails in 15 different sizes (two of each), making it easy to find your perfect fit!

Each nail is numbered at the tip for reference only. The numbers are simply there to help you identify and compare sizes within the set. When applying, focus on how the nail fits your natural nail rather than the number itself.

Please note that sizing may vary slightly between different shapes. Gluetabs also have their own numbering system, which does not need to match the numbers on the nails. Their purpose is simply to help you select the most suitable fit.
