APPLYING GLUETABS
Choose a Gluetab that fits your natural nail, covering as much area as possible without touching the skin. Usually, you need to go a bit bigger than you think. Remove the protective film, apply the Gluetab on your nail, rub it in using your fingers and the cuticle tool. Finally, gently remove the remaining protective film using the cuticle tool as well. You can also peel it off by using your fingers.
REMOVING NAILS
The easiest way is to use the included cuticle stick and gently push it in between the press-on nail and your natural nail on the sides. Drag the tool back and forth on both sides until the press-on nail pops off. Never use any force!
NAILS NOT HOLDING?
Prepping is the key! Please visit our Instructions page and follow each step carefully. We totally understand that you want to wear your Switch Nails right away, but it's easy to miss a step during the application. A good application will ensure that the Gluetabs are attached to your natural nails properly, and that the press-ons are attached to the Gluetabs properly.
CUSTOMISING NAILS
You can cut or file your nails down to the desired shape. Remember to file carefully as just like on a built nail at a salon, the press-on nail consists of a base nail, with a layer of color/design on top and then a top coat. If you are not careful when filing the nail, you can separate the layers by filing too hard or with too coarse a file. Not that it is visible right away but the design can wear off faster with use. You can also paint your nails. If you choose to modify your nails in any way, we cannot guarantee that they will return to their original condition. We always recommend putting a top coat on top if you change your press-on nails so they get extra protection.
CARING FOR YOUR NAILS
Remove any residue glue from the press-on nails, clean with soap and water and put them back in the box to keep your Switch Nails nice and fresh for reapplication.
WHAT TO AVOID
Keep your press-on nails away from harsh chemicals like acetone and other removers that melt plastic. Substances that are flammable such as high percentage alcohol often melt plastic. If you get it on your press-on nails, be sure to wipe it off and also make sure it is not on the underside of the nail. We recommend using a cuticle oil twice per day to keep your natural nails and skin moisturised with and without your Switch Nails on.
DURABILITY OF THE NAILS
All our press-on nails are made of recycled ABS plastic, some have added designs or effects and the nail is then sealed with a gel top coat. When it comes to our models with a painted design that differs from the base color, we recommend using your favourite topcoat on top to avoid wear and tear so that you can reuse your nails on multiple occasions. The base is very thin and flexible to match your natural nails. It is comparable with the durability of a natural nail with a gel polish manicure.
NAIL SIZES
Underneath each press-on nail, there is a small number showing the size of the nail. The number should always sit at the tip and NOT by the cuticle when you apply the nails. You can also write down and note which numbers suit you the best, so it will be easier the next time you use your nails. Please note that each nail shape has its own size scale.
REMOVING GLUETABS FROM PRESS-ONS
To remove Gluetab residue from the press-on nails, you can use the cuticle tool. Use the pointy part of the tool and start spinning it to collect any glue residue. You can also carefully scrape the nail with the cuticle tool. To remove Gluetabs from your own natural nails, please use our Remover Wipes.
REMOVING GLUETABS FROM NATURAL NAILS
The easiest way to remove glue residue from your natural nail is to use the cuticle tool and our Remover Wipes. They will gently remove any residue from your natural nail. Be careful around your press-on nails as this solvent can affect the plastic. If you want to save your press-on nails, make sure to remove them all before cleaning up the glue-tab residue with the wipes. Only use the wipes on your natural nails and NOT on the press-ons
NAIL BITERS
Switch Nails press-ons are great in many ways, but our press-on nails need a surface to stick to. If you want long nails, you need a longer surface to be able to attach the press-on nails. In the picture, for example, you can see that that the Ballerina shape does not have enough surface to attach to. If you have very small nail surface areas, please contact us at info@switch-nails.com and we will help you with a consultation.
