What are gluetabs and when should you use them? In this guide we walk through how they work, when to use them, and how to get the best hold from your press-on nails.
What are Gluetabs?
Gluetabs are double-sided adhesive tabs designed to attach press-on nails without liquid glue. They create a temporary bond between your natural nail and the press-on, making them ideal when you want a quick application that is easy to remove.
Because the bond is flexible rather than permanent, gluetabs are also a great option if you want to reuse your nails.
Step 1
Choose a Gluetab that fits your natural nail, covering as much area as possible without touching the skin.
Usually, you need to go a bit bigger than you think.
Step 2
Remove the protective film, apply the Gluetab on your nail, rub it in using your fingers and the cuticle tool.
Step 3
Finally, gently remove the remaining protective film using the cuticle tool as aid.
You can also peel it off by using your fingers or with a tweezer.

Gluetabs are designed for temporary wear. How long they last depends on your daily activities, nail preparation, and how your hands are used throughout the day.
Some customers wear them for a day or a special event, while others go 1-2 weeks without having to reapply. Proper preparation and the shape of the press-on nails compared to your natural nail is the key to get a long lasting result.
Don’t focus on the numbers, it’s the fit that matters
Rub the sheet of gluetabs between your hands for a few seconds. Like everything sticky, the glue will activate and become more sticky when warm compared to cold.
Turn it over and apply from the bottom sheet instead! The gluetabs are equally sticky on both sides, there is no up or down.

Use the cuticle tool or a pair of tweezer to remove the gluetab from the sheet. Sometimes you need the extra precision!
Either fold the rest back up on the nailbed or cut the rest of with a small scissor.
